Neither Jason Bay Nor Pedro Feliciano Are Ready to Play Yet

Both the Mets and Yankees got washed out last night — the Mets will play an old-school single-admission doubleheader tomorrow; the Yankees haven’t rescheduled their game against Baltimore — but each team did update the status of one of its injured players: Yankees reliever Pedro Feliciano, who’s been on the disabled list with a left rotator-cuff strain, suffered a setback while playing catch yesterday and will go for another MRI today — bad news for a bullpen that could use another reliable lefty arm. Meanwhile, Sandy Alderson said yesterday that Jason Bay, out with a strained left rib muscle, won’t return before April 26, and even that’s a best-case scenario. Though unfortunately, unlike Feliciano, Bay won’t be of much help to his team’s bullpen, and that’s the local bullpen that could really use a boost right now. [NYP, NYDN]
