Our exhaustive, exhausting, and likely unnecessary coverage of the United States men’s soccer team’s Gold Cup “run” continues! USMNT plays Panama tonight, the team it lost to in the group stage, the game that made everyone so worried about the team in the first place. This game should be different. Coach Bob Bradley has made some key adjustments, the players appeared far more awake and alert in their quarterfinal win against Jamaica, and Panama is missing one of its best strikers. On the other hand, Jozy Altidore is still injured, Landon Donovan has been sleepy all tournament, and the team has been forced to play its now-worn-down starters every game the whole tournament. The match begins 7 p.m. tonight, on Fox Soccer Channel, and is being played in Houston’s Reliant Stadium. Don’t expect a huge U.S. crowd advantage, though; a large percentage of the fans will be there for Mexico, who plays Honduras in the other semifinal, right after the U.S. game is done. USA! USA! USA!
