Continuing in our grand tradition, we ran the 2011 ALDS through Ye Old PlayStation 3’s “MLB The Show 11” this morning, because if you don’t know what the machines think, man, they’re destined to enslave you. Anyway, if our PS3 can be trusted, the Yankees are in for a week of sphincter-tightening. In five taut games that had us occasionally screaming at random pixels and bytes doing math equations in graphical form, the Yankees outlasted the Tigers in five games, winning Game Five at Yankee Stadium 6-4. The Yanks and Tigers split the first two games and then split at Comerica Park, but Ivan Nova pitched seven strong innings in Game Five and the Yankees scored two insurance runs in the eighth to secure the victory. Mariano Rivera, obviously, closed out the save (giving up a run), his second save of the series. The PS3 wants us to worry about CC Sabathia: He took both the losses in the series. If you’re curious, by the way, the other PS3 simulated series: Brewers in 3, Phillies in 3, Rangers in 3. So at least the Yanks series was close.
Our PS3 Likes the Yankees in Five
He’s slimmer in digital form.
