Brandon Jacobs has seen his role in the Giants offense diminished over the past couple of seasons. Earlier this month, he hinted that he wasn’t pleased with how he was being used, and now in an interview with Men’s Fitness, he says that he doesn’t see himself with the team next year. Sample quote: “I just can’t wait to get a true opportunity to get out there and show myself again, you know? Next year, hopefully. This is a business and you have to look at it that way. I just want to get out there and show myself. It’s going to have to be for another team, but it is what it is.” And if that wasn’t clear enough, here’s his response to the question of whether he sees himself with the Giants next year: “No, I don’t.” As has been pointed out elsewhere today, it’s possible that the Giants don’t see him with the team next year, either. As a result of the restructuring of his contract prior to this season, he’s due a $500,000 roster bonus in March. This means that the Giants will have to make a decision on his future early in the off-season, as opposed to later on in the summer.
