Lenny Dykstra Facing Four Years in Prison

Lenny Dykstra.

Dwight Gooden wasn’t the only member of the ‘86 Mets in the news for the wrong reasons yesterday: Lenny Dykstra pleaded no contest to three counts of grand theft auto, as well as one count of filing false financial statements. Prosecutors said he and two others were running a scheme to lease cars using fraudulent business and credit information, and he now faces a maximum penalty of four years in prison. Dykstra initially faced 25 criminal counts (including three for possession of a controlled substance), but the remainder of those will be dismissed as part of his plea deal, according to Los Angeles prosecutors. Dykstra will be sentenced in January. [Reuters via NYT]
