Hey, you guys, the World Series starts tonight. Thus, as always, we ran the matchup between the Texas Rangers and the St. Louis Cardinals (!!!) through MLB The Show 11 on our PlayStation 3. It was quite the series. The Cardinals took the first two in St. Louis — winning Game Two on a walkoff single by David Freese in the eleventh inning — and then Texas took two of three in Arlington. The Rangers pounded the Cardinals 11-1 in Game Six, setting up a Game Seven that, if it happens like this, will cause us and everyone we know to have strokes right on the spot. (And also probably kill a lot of people.) Texas was up 5-3 in the bottom of the ninth, but Rafael Furcal hit a two-run, two-out double to tie it off Neftali Feliz. Free baseball! The game lasted until the fourteenth, when David Murphy hit his fifth homer of the series in the top half. But the Cardinals loaded the bases with no one out in the bottom half for Albert Pujols … who, in perhaps his last at-bat as a Cardinal, popped out to the shortstop. (Arrrrrgh.) The next hitter, Matt Holliday, hit into a double play on the first pitch, and the Rangers had their first World Series title ever. And our TV had a crack in it.
Our PS3 Likes the Rangers in Seven
It really does look like their ballpark.
