As previously established, we are dealing with the (never going to end) NBA lockout by simulating the Knicks season on NBA2K12 on our PlayStation 3 and posting the results here, as if they were actual games. So! Last Wednesday, virtual Carmelo Anthony sprained his ankle, an injury that will keep him out 2–4 weeks. (We wish, as commenter DONMATTINGLY suggested, “he could just go get some magic coins or something that give him health.”) This Knicks team clearly needs him. In their only weekend game, the Knicks lost 96-80 to the Pacers, at home. Bad. Danny Granger scored 36 points for the Pacers, while being guarded by Carmelo replacement Derrick Brown, but it’s clear that the Knicks’ problem, until Carmelo comes back, will be scoring; they only had three players in double figures: Amar’e Stoudemire, Chauncey Billups, and Toney Douglas. Even worse, now they begin their West Coast trip, at Utah tonight, at Denver on Wednesday, and at the Lakers on Thursday. Could get ugly. Right now, the faux-Knicks are 3-3 on the season. We’ll be back tomorrow with a report on tonight’s game.
As always, here’s a short video from the Pacers game, shot poorly off our television by our iPhone.
