Sean Avery is a Ranger again, in the sense that he cleared re-entry waivers, was recalled from their AHL affiliate, and practiced with the team today. But according to John Tortorella, he won’t play tomorrow night when the Rangers take on the Ducks at the Garden. So for the time being at least, you may continue with your “We want Avery” chants. Just don’t expect any pro-Avery banners to make it onto the team’s website, at least not if they also include unkind words about Tortorella. [NYDN]
