The NBA regular season is set to start on Christmas Day, but in the meantime, we’ll continue to simulate the Knicks season (based on the original 2011–12 schedule) on PlayStation 3, and post the results here as if they were actual games. So! Carmelo Anthony has returned! The Knicks superstar severely sprained his ankle in the fifth game of the year, but came back to the team last night, twelve games later. That’s the happy news. The not-so-happy news is that the Knicks suffered their worst loss of the year, a 97-70 drubbing at the hands of the San Antonio Spurs. Carmelo had 34 points … and no one else was in double figures. The Knicks are now 7-11 on the year, though their schedule is about to get much easier, with games against the Cavaliers, Bobcats, and Timberwolves coming up. Their next “game” is tomorrow night in Cleveland.
As always, here’s a short video from the game, shot off our television, using our iPhone. This one is particularly wobbly. We’d had a bit to drink.
