The NBA regular season is set to start on Christmas Day, but in the meantime, we’ll continue to simulate the Knicks season (based on the original 2011–12 schedule) on PlayStation 3, and post the results here as if they were actual games. So! We’re done! In the last pre-Christmas Day game, the faux-Knicks saw their eight-game losing streak end in an 84-76 road loss to the Celtics. This ends the simulated season at 15-11, good enough for fifth in the Eastern Conference. And that’s before Tyson Chandler got here. It has been a fun ride, all. We’ll do this again come playoff time.
As always, here’s a short video from each game, shot off our television, using our iPhone. First is the final fake game, and then, as a transition to guide you through these dark days, the last five minutes of our simulation of Sunday’s game, with the current rosters. (We even benched Paul Pierce.) Season’s starting!
