Oh yeah: Another court storming, people. Long Island, Northeast Conference power and pride of Brooklyn, pounded Robert Morris 90–73 last night to secure its second straight trip to the NCAA Tournament. Unlike last year, it wasn’t even close: LIU pretty much dominated the whole game and pulled away at the end. They’re likely set up for a No. 15 or No. 16 seed — though they should be safe from the play-in game — but they’re in the tournament, and that is fantastic. We’re living in the golden age of LIU basketball! It’ll be the fifth-ever tournament appearance for the Blackbirds; they’ve never won a game, but they did only lose to Northeastern by three in 1984. And they didn’t play North Carolina too poorly last year. Get excited! By the way, best part about last night’s game? Spike Lee showed up.
