Truth be told, this hasn’t been the most exciting Big East Tournament: The first day was entirely uneventful, with all four games decided by double-digit margins, and an average margin of victory of 20.25 points. Yesterday was at least a bit more competitive — in the day’s first game, UConn rallied back to beat West Virginia in overtime, knocking the Mountaineers out of their final Big East Tournament — but generally speaking, if you haven’t been tuning in yet, you haven’t missed a whole lot. But one hopes that will change today, with the top four seeds in action for the first time. (Georgetown is the only one of the Big East teams ranked in the top 25 that’s played so far.) Today’s slate of games kicks off in about twenty minutes, with UConn — which is hoping for a repeat of last year’s five-wins-in-five days run to the tourney title — taking on top-seeded, 30-1 Syracuse. (Perhaps they could play another six-overtime quarterfinal game? Is that too much to ask?)
