Unless you’re counting Vegas League games — and you shouldn’t — the Brooklyn Nets will exist for the first time on this physical plane of consciousness on October 13. That’s when they play their first preseason game, at the Philadelphia 76ers. Yesterday was the big preseason schedule release date — we didn’t have one of those last year, thanks to the lockout — and both the Nets and the Knicks set their full skeds. The highlights: The first Nets game at Barclays Center is October 15 against Washington; the Knicks and Nets will play each other at Nassau Coliseum in Long Island on October 24; the Knicks play Toronto in Montreal on October 19 and Boston in Albany on October 20. The Knicks won’t have any preseason home games because of the ongoing Garden renovations. Anyway, yeah, it’s all almost here. Full preseason sked post this little jump thing here.
