Humor us for a moment: If the Yankees win Game 4 this afternoon, then send the series back to New York with a win tomorrow, then win Game 6 on Saturday at Yankee Stadium, last night’s rain-out means that barring another postponement, CC Sabathia won’t be able to start a Game 7, even on short rest. If Sabathia had pitched last night, he could have taken the ball Sunday on three days rest. But Brian Cashman has already said he wouldn’t start a Game 7 on two days rest. So add Mother Nature to list of those conspiring against the Yankees. (The others on that list, by the way: umpire Jeff Nelson, the MLB postseason schedule maker, and the prankster responsible for replacing all the Yankees’ wooden bats with Nerf ones.)
By the Way, If the ALCS Goes the Distance, Now CC Sabathia Can’t Start Game 7
CC Sabathia.
