Skelton — the Sports Section’s Official Favorite Athlete for reasons explained here — started his third game in a row yesterday, but for the fifth straight week, his Cardinals lost. (After a surprising 4-0 start, they’ve now dropped below .500.) Skelton threw for 306 yards (nine short of his career high) with a touchdown and an interception, but he completed just half of his 46 passes in the 31-17 loss to Green Bay. The Cardinals will not lose next weekend, at least. They have a bye.
