The NHL lockout has been in effect for more than three months now, and so, with no actual games to report on, we’re going to link to a different hockey video every day until a new CBA is reached. And because we like to keep things festive, from now until Christmas, said hockey videos will all be holiday-themed. Today: three teams get their lip-sync on.
Apparently, hockey teams lip-synching to Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” is a Thing. The Belfast Giants of the U.K.’s Elite Ice Hockey League got some attention for their video a couple of years back, the Edmonton Oil Kings of the WHL made such a video last year, and the Ryerson University Rams women’s hockey team uploaded one this year. Wikipedia tells us that lip-dub videos are, by definition, filmed in one long shot, so these aren’t lip-dub videos. But whatever they are, everyone involved seems to be having a merry time, so more power to them.
And so, on Day 95 of the NHL lockout, here are three videos that haven’t yet gone quite as viral as the one with Jimmy Fallon and the Roots and all of the classroom instruments.
