The NHL lockout has been in effect for more than two months now, and so, with no actual games to report on, we’re going to link to a different hockey video every day until a new CBA is reached. Today: Gob drops the gloves.
For the first time in a while today, it’s not totally depressing to be a hockey fan. The day is still young, of course, and sure, it would have been nice if we didn’t need to wait some three months for encouraging news, but whatever: The end of this lockout may finally be in sight. So as a result, we wanted to post a fun video today, in advance of what we hope will be happy news.
This video’s not very old — we’d first linked to it the day after it aired during this year’s NHL Awards in Las Vegas — but it’s worth watching again, just because. We suppose non-hockey fans would find it funny enough, but anyone familiar with Brendan Shanahan’s suspension videos will really get the joke. There were four clips in all that aired during the awards, and they’re all here.
And so on Day 82 of the NHL lockout, he’s Brendan Shanahan, and he drops the puck.
