According to the Times, vice-presidential daughter Liz Cheney is a “rising star” for the GOP, which is saying something, because usually they reserve that term only for people they think are laughable, like Meghan McCain, Sarah Palin, and that one rambunctious 14-year-old. But Cheney, even if you don’t agree with her, is obviously smart, and she’s following in the politically risky route of her father: that of extreme hawkishness. Her mantra, one she says she learned from her dad, is “We can’t win if we don’t fight.” [NYT]
