Though she has received an inordinate amount of national attention over the past month, Christine O’Donnell still trails Democrat opponent Chris Coons by a huge margin. A new University of Delaware poll has Coons 19 points ahead of O’Donnell; and a different Fairleigh-Dickinson University survey has Coons up by 17 points. Furthermore, O’Donnell’s supporters in Delaware aren’t even particularly passionate about their candidate: only a third of her supporters said they would be “very disappointed” if she lost the race, compared to two-thirds of Coons’ supporters who said the same about their candidate.
