Harrison David, the esteemed ringleader of Columbia University’s drug ring, won’t be going home anytime soon. His father has released him into the custody of a family friend — a retired city correction officer in Florida — rather than let the 20-year-old come home. Apparently dad Dave David (nice name!) is livid and the new living arrangement is per his wishes; he “didn’t want him to be anywhere near the college campus or his friends.” His father thought Florida “was the best environment to place his son in, with a close family friend and a disciplined fellow,” said defense lawyer Matthew Myers. Harrison David faces up to ten years in prison for his role in the drug ring. [NYDN]
