Good news: A day after Arizona shooting suspect Jared Loughner pleaded not guilty to 49 charges related to the attack, it was announced that shooting victim Representative Gabrielle Giffords will attend her husband Mark Kelly’s shuttle launch next month. Doctors are going to give an update on Giffords’s status on Friday morning. So far, they say she’s steadily improved since the shooting, but recovery remains slow as she relearns basic skills like walking and talking.
