Ohio Has a Prescription Drug Problem

In Ohio, fatal overdoses from prescription drugs have more than quadrupled in the last year. And in Portsmouth, Ohio, one in ten babies born tests positive for drugs. “We’re raising third and fourth generations of prescription drug abusers now,” said Chief Charles Horner of the Portsmouth police, who also noted that more people died from overdoses in Ohio in 2008 and 2009 than during the September 11 attacks.
