The M42 bus has won the Pokey the Straphangers Campaign’s award for the slowest bus in the city for two years running. Last year, it was clocked traveling its route at a blazing 3.6 miles per hour. So demonstrating that the M42 does not travel rapidly, as comedian Mark Malkoff has done, is not exactly eye-opening. Malkoff’s achievement, though, is finding the most emasculating way possible to highlight the bus’s slothlike pace: beating it in a race on a tiny tricycle.
