Jim Lehrer Steps Down After 36 Years at PBS NewsHour

Legendary broadcaster Jim Lehrer, who is the longest-serving national news anchor ever, will step down this June, he said today. According to the Washington Post, the 76-year-old will stay on as a reporter and will moderate weekly analysis panels. No word on whether he’ll continue to host presidential debates, as he has eleven times in his career.

And, in other nerd public broadcasting news, NPR’s Audie Cornish will host Weekend Edition Sunday. She’ll replace Liane Hansen, who has had the gig for more than twenty years.
