News Corporation’s voluntary settlement program will begin taking claims today from victims of phone hacking, who could number in the thousands, at the hands of the Murdoch company’s since-closed News of the World tabloid. Instead of going to court, the wronged can use the Internet for a “speedy, cost-effective alternative to litigation.” It’s like a real-life version of making $70 an hour working from home.
