Troubled JetBlue Pilot Will Make an Unsurprising Plea

NEW YORK - FEBRUARY 6: Three Jet Blue Airways planes are shown on the tarmac at Kennedy International Airport February 6, 2003 in New York City. According to documents filed by his attorneys today, JetBlue pilot Clayton Osbon will plead insanity in federal court. As you may recall, Osbon subjected a plane full of passengers to one of our personal worst nightmares last month, when a midair freakout prompted his co-pilot to lock him out of the cockpit and make an emergency landing. Since then, a grand jury in Lubbock, Texas, has indicted him on charges of “interfering in the operations of a flight crew.” Osbon is currently undergoing psychiatric examinations to determine whether he is fit to stand trial.
