According to documents filed by his attorneys today, JetBlue pilot Clayton Osbon will plead insanity in federal court. As you may recall, Osbon subjected a plane full of passengers to one of our personal worst nightmares last month, when a midair freakout prompted his co-pilot to lock him out of the cockpit and make an emergency landing. Since then, a grand jury in Lubbock, Texas, has indicted him on charges of “interfering in the operations of a flight crew.” Osbon is currently undergoing psychiatric examinations to determine whether he is fit to stand trial.
