Ikea, the Swedish dorm-room furnisher, is getting into the electronics business.
Its “Uppleva” line of flat-screen TVs is set to hit the European market this summer, TechCrunch reports, with a wider release planned for next year. The TVs will have a 1080p display, a 400Hz response time, and a remote with a hidden number pad. They will also take ten hours to assemble with an Allen wrench, and will last six months before they fall apart and need replacing.
