For the second time in two years, former WWE CEO Linda McMahon has won the GOP Senate nomination in Connecticut after taking a metaphorical folding chair to the face of her primary opponent, the moderate former congressman Chris Shays, whom she beat by a ridiculous 73 percent to 23 percent margin. McMahon lost her 2010 Senate race to Attorney General Richard Blumenthal, despite spending $47 million of her own money. As for this race, Democratic nominee Chris Murphy, a three-term congressman, has consistently led McMahon in the polls. Can she pull off an upset victory in a solidly blue state, and in the process, help the GOP flip control of the Senate? She will certainly spend an obscene amount of money trying.
