Mayor Bloomberg Thinks Midtown Skyscrapers Aren’t High Enough

Believe it or not, Michael Bloomberg’s last mayoral term ends in a year, and he’s looking to leave behind something a bit more eye-catching than calorie counts and reasonably sized cups of soda. He’s already overseen the steady skyward creep of One World Trade Center, green-lighted high-rise developments on the Williamsburg and Long Island City waterfronts, and pushed for a radical re-imagining of Hudson Yards in west Midtown.
