Hurricane Sandy blacked out parts of New York City, but five days later, the lights began to flicker on in much of Downtown Friday at 5:30 p.m., to cheers and applause. We visited the corner of East 5th Street and Avenue A to talk to locals about the very first thing they did once they returned to their apartments once again cozy with heat, lights, and hot water.
