The training to become a transit cop does not include lessons in how to deliver a baby, so when a Bronx woman on her way to the doctor went into labor on a southbound 4 train and got off at Yankee Stadium, the police who work at Transit Station 11 there had to improvise. They called 911 but paramedics weren’t going to make it in time, so they laid down some blankets and clean garbage bags on the floor of the police station and an EMS officer talked the station captain through the delivery of one healthy baby boy named Maxwell — like tech support telling you how to fix your computer, but with higher stakes and more crying.
