A Brooklyn jury found confessed killer Lamont Pride guilty today of burglary, aggravated manslaughter, and second-degree murder for the shooting of NYPD officer and father of three Peter Figoski in late 2011. Pride, who admitted to firing on Figoski during the botched robbery but said it was an accident, was acquitted of first-degree murder, the most serious charge, to the dismay of the officer’s family and colleagues: “This clown intended on killing police officers,” said Pat Lynch, president of the New York City Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association. “This clown intended on killing Peter Figoski period. There’s is no doubt. The evidence points to that.” Pride faces 25 years to life regardless.
