You’d be forgiven for coming away from this Staten Island Advance story thinking mayoral candidate Joe Lhota was open to a deer-hunting season in the borough, what with lines like this: “Lhota said that if deer hunting were permitted, it should be with a bow and arrow.” But when City Room picked up the story, Lhota got on the phone to set the record straight. “I don’t think it should be done,” he told the Times’ blog, and said the line about bow hunting was “not anything like what I said.” So don’t start riding the ferry slathered in deer musk just yet.
