The enormously popular Harlem Shake, which is not the real Harlem Shake, is this year’s equivalent of the flash mob, so naturally it made its way to Times Square. At the behest of some painfully earnest Redditors, a few hundred people gathered last night to film a megaversion of the video meme to the dismay of the police, who were violently “throwing people around,” according to the directors. Animal New York has the behind-the-scenes footage, but no one really comes out of this looking good.
