Yoselyn Ortega made her first public statements on the murder of Leo and Lucia Krim on Wednesday, denying in an interview on Rikers Island that she had anything to do with the death of the children in her care. “I didn’t do that,” Ortega told the Daily News. “Someone else did.” The paper reports she “spoke in a soft and eerie whisper,” and added, “Those are all lies,” when asked about the charges against her. Ortega then ended the interview abruptly, remembering a bit too late, “My lawyer told me not to talk … I’m not supposed to say anything.”
