Roller Coaster From Annie Hall Returning to Coney Island, in Name at Least

Accompany a Woody Allen fan to Coney Island and they’ll probably start talking about the Thunderbolt, the wooden roller coaster that stood east of the current MCU Park until the city tore it down in 2000, and which roared over Allen’s fictional childhood home. (There really was a house there.) The new Thunderbolt, to be built in the same location by Luna Park owner Central Amusement International, will be made of metal, stand 125 feet tall, and go 65 mph. There’s no mention of a new house underneath.
