Sanjay Gupta Did Inhale, Didn’t Like It Much

Sanjay Gupta, CNN’s chief medical correspondent, has a complicated relationship with marijuana. In 2009, he wrote an article for Time headlined Why I Would Vote No on Pot. But now, four and a half years later, he’s got a documentary coming out called Weed, which he says changed his mind on the topic. On Piers Morgan Wednesday night, Gupta went so far as to apologize for his earlier reporting: “I think we’ve been terribly and systematically misled in this country for some time, and I did some of the misleading.” Gupta went on to make the point that “we fund studies on the harm, we don’t fund studies on benefit nearly as much.” (The whole twelve-minute segment is here, if you’re interested). But enough about studies! CNN is pretty sure it knows what will go viral.
