It was a hard day in Brooklyn’s courthouse as a defense attorney dropped dead of a heart attack after a tense exchange with his client. Steven Sindos, a 53-year-old Legal Aid Society defender, was representing a burglary defendant who “asked the judge for a new lawyer – a request that was denied after some back and forth,” the New York Daily News reports. Then, as he walked out of the courtroom, Sindos simply fell over, dead of a heart attack. The last thing he did, a colleague told the Daily News, was refuse to drop the client.
