Roberto Nunez, who shot and killed three others in a parked BMW during a drug deal gone bad near Columbia University last year received the harshest sentence yet in State Supreme Court Justice Thomas A. Farber’s eighteen years on the bench: Life in prison without the possibility of parole. “I have never imposed a sentence that would guarantee somebody would spend the rest of his life in jail,” the judge said. But he figured gunning down three people in cold blood merited it.
