The world absolutely did not need a pro-Israeli-settlers parody video of Miley Cyrus’s “We Can’t Stop,” but we now have one, thanks to an American Jewish woman and current resident of Israel, Orit Arfa. In a piece called “Jeffrey Goldberg Twerks John Kerry’s Butt,” Arfa explains that she recently took exception to a Bloomberg opinion column called “John Kerry Is Israel’s Best Friend” by , who had previously written something that was nominally about Miley. So, she created “Jews Can’t Stop.”
The spoof features karaoke-style vocals, shots of another young woman pole-dancing on a checkpoint sign, and lyrics such as, “We gonna fight all night/ till we get our birthright,” “Everyone in line to make peace/Trying to get a Nobel for peace/We all so fed up here,” and “Can’t you see it’s we who own the land/Can’t you see it’s we who take a stand.” Regardless of your opinion on Israel and Palestine, we think everyone can agree that this thing is not good for anyone.
