New York contributing editor Gabriel Sherman appeared on The Colbert Report last night to discuss his new book, The Loudest Voice in the Room, about Roger Ailes and his cable-news kingdom. “I have sources at Fox News,” Colbert warned. “One of my sources, this person says you’re not a good guy.”
“Is it a hit job?” asked the host, doing his best O’Reilly. “Say something positive and nice about Roger Ailes.” Sherman responded, “Fox News is a family. The people who work for Roger Ailes love him. He’s a charismatic leader.” He added, “They love and they fear him,” to which Colbert offered, “What’s the difference?”
