Like Rudy Giuliani, John McCain thinks Chris Christie is handling this George Washington Bridge scandal very well. In an appearance on State of the Union, McCain allowed that the controversy is “obviously” a blow to Christie, but said that he thinks the New Jersey governor should be able “to move on as long as another shoe doesn’t drop.” McCain especially admired Christie’s endless Thursday press conference: “I thought he did an excellent job by the very lengthy press conference,” he said. “Having gone through this, I know that you’ve got to answer every question. You can’t leave any question unanswered.” It’s nice to see Republican mavericks supporting each other, especially when pretty much everyone else in the GOP is keeping quiet on this one.
