Six months after Al Jazeera America launched, the new network still has lots of money and a few advertisers, but it is severely hurting in one key measure of any network’s success: audience. According to Advertising Age, AJA doesn’t even have half the audience of the flailing Current TV, which it replaced. “Al Jazeera America has averaged just 15,000 total viewers in prime-time since bowing in August, with only 5,000 viewers in the target 25-to-54-year-old demographic, according to Nielsen figures. That’s low enough to be considered ‘scratch,’ or negligible, by Nielsen.” Rough.
