Ratings at Jeff Zucker’s cable network have soared during the search for the missing Malaysia Airlines jet, thanks to its “creative ways” of covering the story all day every day despite a lack of verifiable information, the New York Times reports. That includes frequent use of an “eerie background score” theme song, a toy model, a flight simulator, animated maps, and the willingness to wonder about supernatural causes when called for.
