A 36-year-old woman and a 38-year-old man called to a fire in a Coney Island high-rise on Sunday afternoon were found unconscious in the building’s elevator, the New York Daily News reports. According to the police, the cab carrying the officers got stuck in between the 12th and 13th floors, and the pair seems to have been overcome by smoke. They were discovered when the elevator finally returned to the first floor. There were no other reported injures from the blaze, which was under control within an hour.
