On Saturday, a county board in Arlington, Virginia approved a plan to tear down the most (only?) important parking garage in American history. The garage where Washington Post reporter Bob Woodward met with FBI source Mark Felt during the Watergate investigation will be razed to make way for a 28-story residential tower and 24-story commercial building. The landowner said he’ll keep the historical marker put up in 2011, but if you’ve always dreamed of making a bizarre pilgrimage to Watergate landmarks, you’d better move fast.
