During an appearance on Sunday’s State of the Union, the soon-to-be former House Speaker claimed that he intended to vote for the Ayn Rand–loving Randolph-Macon College professor who came out of nowhere to beat him in last week’s Virginia primary battle. Without mentioning Brat by name, let alone congratulating him on his victory, Cantor said, “I want a Republican to hold this seat. Of course. Of course.” Of course, Brat’s Democratic opponent, Jack Trammell, barely has a website, so Cantor can probably afford to forget to show up at the polls without worrying about the GOP losing his district.
