A judge has thrown out the Florida man’s libel lawsuit against NBC, ruling that Zimmerman could not prove “actual malice” in the editing of a call he made to police before confronting and killing Trayvon Martin. In 2012, NBC fired a producer after it aired a clip that made it sound like Zimmerman offered that the teenager was “black” without prompting. The judge, however, pointed out that the second time Zimmerman mentioned Martin’s race to the dispatcher, he hadn’t been asked. Oh, and he “pursued a course of conduct that ultimately led to the death of Martin,” so he should probably just be grateful he’s not in jail.
