Toddler Rescued After Stroller Rolls Onto Queens Subway Tracks

The incident happened at the Archer Avenue E station at around 11:30 a.m. on Monday, when the 2-year-old girl’s mother reportedly stepped away briefly to throw away some trash. After realizing what had happened, the woman jumped onto the tracks herself and ended up with a sprained ankle. Luckily, another person — identified by the Daily News as an “alert maintenance worker” — followed the pair and pulled them both to safety. (The toddler was treated for some bumps and bruises but is expected to be alright.) Let this serve as a reminder that it takes a village to avoid horrifying subway incidents.
