Last month, the MTA officially banned hoverboards from subways, buses, and commuter rails for safety reasons, including — but not limited to — the toy’s penchant for spontaneously bursting into flames.
With the ban came the alluring promise of a new MTA “bubble person” ad. And, lo, the poster above, showing everyone’s favorite red stick figure casually cruising on a platform, started appearing last week. Not only is having a hoverboard under your arm on the train now officially as impolite as manspreading and dance routines, but it also leaves you subject to a citation from the cops.
